There are a handful of grape varieties used to produce Lima Vinho Verde wines like Alvarinho, Arinto, Avesso, and Loureiro. Loureiro is perhaps the most typical for the Lima region.
The Vinho Verde wines of Lima are very approachable and refreshing. They are usually intended to be drunk young, within a year of bottling, to maintain their crisp, fresh character.
